As many great tales begin, Tiny Town begins with a love story. With the wedding of Marilyn Gates and Herbert Fleishman in 1951, a partnership and dream was set in to motion: to create a business that was family-owned, operated, and loved that would help enrich the lives of children and families in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Since Marilyn and Herbert founded the business in the same year, there’s been three children: Michael, Minda, and Marcie, three grandchildren: Annie, Ashley, and Harrison, and even a grandson-in-law (Gus) come into our family. And that’s not to mention the countless generations of children and children who’ve become parents of their own who continue to come to Tiny Town for the very best for their families.
Though we lost Herbert in 2002, Marilyn still comes into the store nearly every day, carrying on their shared legacy of customer service and only the best for kids. Michael has managed the store for over 2 decades now and Marcie’s a buyer for the business and runs our Facebook Page. Even granddaughter Annie who used to play with toys in the store is now playing a part in helping introduce Tiny Town to the online world.
And so today, we hope you’ll come visit and become a part of our ongoing story started by Herbert and Marilyn more than half a century ago.
